Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ – Quick Answers

What is the difference between flat profiles and rectangular tubes?
Flat profiles are solid cross-sections – solid, easy to drill and weld, but heavier. Rectangular tubes are closed hollow profiles – at the same weight, significantly higher area moment of inertia and better torsional stiffness.
Which profile type is suitable for handrails and balustrades?
Aluminium round tubes (EN AW-6060 T66) are the standard for handrails and balustrades – aesthetically pleasing, comfortable to grip, corrosion-resistant.
Which type is suitable for vehicle bodies?
EN AW-6082 T6 rectangular tubes and flat profiles for load-bearing frames and longitudinal members. Custom profiles with integrated stiffening ribs for box bodies – developed to customer drawing.
Are T-profiles and U-profiles also available?
Yes. T-profiles, U-profiles, Z-profiles and other special cross-sections are available as stock items or as custom profiles. For standard dimensions please submit an enquiry.
