Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ – Quick Answers

What is the difference between a honeycomb composite panel and a sandwich panel?
Honeycomb composite panels (ALUCORE®, LUXBOARD) have an aluminium honeycomb core – extremely light, very high bending stiffness, more expensive. Sandwich panels (CORAPAN®) have a solid PE core – cheaper, easily formable, good for signage and simple façades. Both consist of two aluminium face sheets.
Which composite for which application?
ALUCORE®: façade, exhibition, lightweight construction. CORAPAN®: façade, signage. LUXBOARD: high-quality interior, shop fitting, furniture fronts. STALUFLEX®: construction, mechanical engineering and architectural applications. KAALU®: special applications.
Can composites be combined with NNF® profiles?
Yes – NNF® composite panel profiles are specially developed for ALUCORE®, CORAPAN® and other composite panels. H- and U-profiles accept panels from 3–10 mm thickness with no play. CNC adaptation possible.
Can composites be cut to size?
Yes. CNC saw for longitudinal and cross cuts, ±1 mm. Milling of recesses and contours. Drilling for fixing points. Edges can be sealed with aluminium strips or adhesive tape.
